About Kevin van Whye

Kevin van Whye is a writer born and raised in South Africa, where his love for storytelling started at a young age. At four years old, he quit preschool because his teacher couldn’t tell a story. Kevin’s love affair with stories led him to film school to study script writing. Date Me, Bryson Keller is his first novel. Kevin currently lives in Johannesburg.

Kevin van Whye is the author of Date Me, Bryson Keller, an LGBTQ Rom-Com forthcoming from Random House Books for Young Readers in Summer 2020. When Kevin was in High School, he won an award for writing a school play, and there’s a trophy with his name on. Kevin studied scriptwriting and producing at film school for two years before dropping out. Since then he’s written a short film that is in development with a film commission here in South Africa and edited a script for a feature film in pre-production. Kevin has also worked as a remote intern for a Literary Agency in the US. He sometimes freelance edits, and sometimes mentors in Author Mentor Match. When Kevin’s not writing or reading, he can be found either watching tv-series/movies, listening to music or playing video games. Kevin currently lives in Johannesburg South Africa. He is represented by Robert Guinsler of Sterling Lord Literistic, Inc.
